PKG to XMODs converter [Models for MC2] - Tool by LV Volk

Here is the tool to convert Midnight Madness 2 3D models from PKG to MC2 XMOD format.

Discussion at the forum

All you need is PKG file (can be found in Geometry folder in .ar files) and knowledge how to work with command line (read instruction in readme file).

I hope this will help to create new models for MC2 (Zmodeler 1.07 can save 3D models in PKG file format).

Readme File:

PKG to XMODs converter.
Converts 3D-models from “Midtown Madness 2″ (MM2) game PKG format to “Midnight Club 2″ (MC2) game XMOD format files.

EXE file must be placed to the same folder where PKG file located.

NO USER FRIENDLY WINDOWS INTERFACE AT ALL. Run from command line or use file manager (for example FAR manager or Total Commander).

USAGE EXAMPLES:

> pkg2xmod_tex.exe vp4×4.pkg
- will create XMOD files in current folder.

> pkg2xmod_tex.exe vp4×4.pkg vp4×4
- will create XMOD files in “vp4×4″ folder.

pkg2xmod_tex.exe for original MM2 PKG files, which uses TEX textures.
pkg2xmod_tga.exe for non-original MM2 PKG files, which uses TGA and/or BMP textures.
Main difference teween these 2 files is flipped vertically texture coordinates in XMOD files.

Keep in mind that some converted models can crash MC2 due to game limitations.
